Awesome look at a fictional presentation of what could actaully happen in based on fact. A conspiracy story laced with a love theme and lots of flying with a woman pilot. The ancient Mayans foretold of earth changes in the year There would be a decrease in the magnetic field that surrounds the planet and we would lose the protection from space energies.
The result would be a demolecularization of the humanoid form. Earth would transform from the third-dimensional reality of space into the fourth-dimensional reality of time.
Kate was a pilot. Ian was a quantum computer engineer. They worked for the same conglomerate.

It looked as though "techno wars" would soon end and "mind wars" would begin. At the beginning of each chapter time is spent trying to figure out if "I" was Kate or Ian narrating. As the reader, I began to dread the start of each chapter. The plot is based on dangerous radio frequency technology that exists today. Since this is something that could possibly happen someday, the story takes on a more intense feel for the reader.
I was amazed at some things the author mentioned in the book that I had never stopped and actually thought about before. Aviators will enjoy the flying sections. The plane in the book is a Hawker Those of us who are not trained to fly find ourselves a bit lost on much of the aviation jargons though. All-in-all, this is a great book that blends modern fiction, sci-fi, and just a bit of romance. One person found this helpful 2 people found this helpful.
It is a delight to read and well-written. I was captivated by the story line and premise as well as the nitty gritty of the way the story was laid out.

It was a lot of fun to be up flying with the characters. It has a unique perspective and it is an interesting read. I like the chapter titles and all the places the novel takes us. Here's an example of the way it's written that I find enjoyable, "The only house rules imposed upon me were that I like her cat and that I pick my own hair out of the shower drain. The ancient Mayans foretold of the end of the earth in the year , but government and private forces are moving at breakneck speed to manipulate climate and other geological forces that could doom or fatally damage the planet well before the Mayans predicted. Might the two be connected? Author Nina Anderson, a veteran corporate jet pilot, gives readers a unique inside the cockpit look at a complex flight deck environment as pilots Kate and Ron journey into artificially modified never-before-encountered atmospheres, with the outcome of their flights and intertwined cozy relationships gripping the reader.
Are planetary changes being experienced in a fluke of nature, or did the Mayans foresee the structural disintegration of the earth? Anderson's thriller takes readers on a journey that may leave them unsettled, but clearly better informed about what earth dwellers might face, as the fateful date in approaches. An exciting sci-fi book, especially for inquisitive readers who don't accept shallow answers to complex questions about the planet and how their lives may be affected by the unknown consequences of scientific experimentation, whether authorized Nina Anderson had written an exciting book with a little bit of something for everyone - romance, suspense, interesting aviation facts,,it's a futuristic tale well worth reading.
I couldn't put it down until I finished it! The authors's experience as a real life Hawker pilot makes her main character, Kate very believable. I found the technical details of the airplane an her knowledge of flying in general fascinating. It is an interesting look at the future with an exciting twist at the end making the reader long for a sequel!!

Much has been written about what may happen in , this book brings that to us in a thought provoking, interesting way. The book was fast moving as well as informational.
I especially enjoyed the parts that pertained to the flying. Having an interest in avaition, all the flying aspects of the story were true and factional as to what flying a Hawker is really like.
